Type of Questions and Marking Schemes

SECTION-1 (Maximum Marks: 12)

This section contains FOUR (04) Questions.
Each question has FOUR options (A), (B), (C) and (D). ONLY ONE of these four options is the correct answer.
For each question, choose the option corresponding to the correct answer.
Answer to each question will be evaluated according to the following marking scheme:

Full Marks : +3 If ONLY the correct option is chosen;

Zero Marks : 0 If none of the options is chosen (i.e. the question is unanswered);

Negative Marks : –1 In all other cases.

SECTION-2 (Maximum Marks: 12)

This section contains THREE (03)
Each question has FOUR options (A), (B), (C) and (D). ONE OR MORE THAN ONE of these four option(s) is(are) correct answer(s).
For each question, choose the option(s) corresponding to (all) the correct answer(s).
Answer to each question will be evaluated according to the following marking scheme:

Full Marks : +4 ONLY if (all) the correct option(s) is(are) chosen;

Partial Marks : +3 If all the four options are correct but ONLY three options are chosen;

Partial Marks : +2 If three or more options are correct but ONLY two options are chosen, both of which are correct;

Partial Marks : +1 If two or more options are correct but ONLY one option is chosen and it is a correct option;

Zero Marks : 0 If none of the options is chosen (i.e. the question is unanswered);

Negative Marks : –2 In all other cases.

For example, in a question, if (A), (B) and (D) are the ONLY three options corresponding to correct answers, then

choosing ONLY (A), (B) and (D) will get +4 marks;

choosing ONLY (A) and (B) will get +2 marks;

choosing ONLY (A) and (D) will get +2 marks;

choosing ONLY (B) and (D) will get +2 marks;

choosing ONLY (A) will get +1 mark;

choosing ONLY (B) will get +1 mark;

choosing ONLY (D) will get +1 mark;

choosing no option (i.e. the question is unanswered) will get 0 marks; and

choosing any other combination of options will get –2 marks.

SECTION-3 (Maximum Marks: 24)

This section contains SIX (06) questions.

The answer to each question is a NON-NEGATIVE INTEGER.
For each question, enter the correct integer corresponding to the answer using the mouse and the onscreen
virtual numeric keypad in the place designated to enter the answer.
Answer to each question will be evaluated according to the following marking scheme:

Full Marks : +4 If ONLY the correct integer is entered;

Zero Marks : 0 In all other cases.

SECTION-4 (Maximum Marks: 12)

This section contains TWO (02) paragraphs.

Based on each paragraph, there are TWO (02) questions.
The answer to each question is a NUMERICAL VALUE.
For each question, enter the correct numerical value of the answer using the mouse and the onscreen virtual numeric keypad in the place designated to enter the answer.
If the numerical value has more than two decimal places, truncate/round-off the value to TWO decimal places.
Answer to each question will be evaluated according to the following marking scheme:

Full Marks : +3 If ONLY the correct numerical value is entered in the designated place;

Zero Marks : 0 In all other cases.

1. The clock will be set at the server. The countdown timer in the top left corner of the screen will display the remaining time available for you to complete the examination. When the timer reaches zero, the examination will end by itself. You will not be required to end or submit your examination.

2. The Questions Palette displayed on the right side of screen will show the status of each question using one of the following symbols :

3. You can click on the language dropdown on the top right corner of the question box to change the language during the exam for the entire question paper. On clicking on the button you will get a drop-down to change the question content to the desired language.

Navigating to a Question:

1. To answer a question, do the following:

>> Click on the question number in the Question Palette at the right of your screen to go to that numbered question directly. Note that using this option does NOT save your answer to the current question.

>> Click on Save & Next to save your answer for the current question and then go to the next question.

>> Click on Mark for Review & Next to save your answer for the current question, mark it for review, and then go to the next question.

Answering a Question:

1. Procedure for answering a single choice type question(SCQ):

>> To select your answer, click on the radio button of one of the options.

>> To deselect your chosen answer, click on the radio button of the chosen option again

>> To change your chosen answer, click on the radio button of another option

>> To save your answer, you MUST click on the Save & Next button.

>> To mark the question for review, click on the Mark for Review & Next button.

2. Procedure for answering a multiple select type question(MSQ):

>>To select your answer, choose one or more options from the 4 choices provided and click the checkbox placed before each of the choices.

>> To remove your selection for one or more choices, simply click on the checkbox of the choice(s) again or click on the Clear Response

>> To change a selected choice, first deselect the choice you want to modify, and then click on the checkbox of the new choice you wish to select.

3. Procedure for answering Integer Type question and Numerical Answer Type question(NAT):

>> To enter a numerical answer, use the keyboard to enter the correct Integer/numerical value in the place designated to enter the answer.

>> Use the keyboard to clear the answer.

4. To change your answer to a question that has already been answered, first select that question for answering and then follow the procedure for answering that type of question.

Navigating through sections:

1. Sections in this question paper are displayed on the top bar of the screen. Questions in a section can be viewed by click on the section name. The section you are currently viewing is highlighted.

2. After clicking the Save & Next button on the last question for a section, you will automatically be taken to the first question of the next section.

3. You can shuffle between sections and question anything during the examination as per your convenience only during the time stipulated.

4. Candidates can view the corresponding section summary as part of the legend that appears in every section above the question palette.
